Customs Clearance and Import Duty and VAT payment

23. www.bundlebox.com is aimed at origin based etailers/retailers and destination based private individuals. It is not aimed at UK VAT registered companies, or UK Ltd companies. The VAT paid on import, cannot be reclaimed by companies when using www.bundlebox.com for their imports. It is important that Bundle Box has arranged special dispensation for private importers, which cannot be applied to Companies.

24. The user is responsible for declaring the correct product category, failure to categorise goods correctly, may result in additional charges, delays, product impounded and HMRC penalties. If the user has trouble categorising or classify their goods, Bundle Box can offer assistance through the Bundle Box help system.

25. If a user falsely declares the value of their goods, then subsequent charges may be levied, the user will be required to pay these charges before Customs Clearance is achieved. A £45 administration charge will be applied to any subsequent payment required. Bundle Box may also be required to co-operate with HMRC in investigating any cases where it would appear that a user was deliberately attempting to avoid paying duties and taxes.

26. The user is deemed to be the importer of record and is therefore fully responsible for providing truthful and accurate information pertaining to the goods being imported, their value and the importer.

27. If a user disputes the amount charged for Duty and VAT they have the right to go to the relevant HMRC department and request a rebate. Bundle Box pays the exact amount of Duty and VAT collected to HMRC and therefore does not profiteer from this process. The department is:

HM Revenue & Customs
National Duty Repayment Centre (NDRC)
St Johns Road
Dover
Kent
CT17 9SH

28. Bundle Box uses the official HMRC rate of exchange to calculate duties and taxes. This rate can be found at www.dutycalculator.com/rates.

29. Bundle Box charges a fixed percentage fee of 3.5% of Duty and VAT to cover its bank charges, as the Tax is a handover process and not a financial element controlled by Bundle Box (ie: £75 VAT and £25 Duty results in a £3.50 charge). If there is no import duty or VAT due, Bundle Box does not charge a import handling fee.
