Shopping from the USA should be fun and simple. This week we got together with Julie Gallagher, a seasoned stateside shopper who is quick to spot a cool new product then have it shipped pronto at the best possible rates.
What do you think is unique about shopping in USA?
I think sheer choice and variety within existing brands that we get here but with limited options is what makes shopping in USA so unique. There are always more choices/colours/flavours of products and models etc that you just don’t see at home and of course, even if they do arrive here eventually the states will always have had it first!
Do you think you get more interesting products and more value?
I def think that in some industries you get more interesting products and new or innovative ideas not seen before in uk or Europe. Probably due to the sheer size of the country they inevitably have more companies producing more options of the same product or category of item. They always seem to be one step ahead when it comes to bringing out new versions of existing products or the latest advancement of current technology. Not always of course but quite frequently! As far as value goes they are usually cheaper, regardless of the currency conversion and even incorporating postage or shipping/tax costs you’ll still often save money buying products you can find at home, in the USA.
What have you bought before from the USA?
I’ve bought a wide variety of different products including kitchen appliances, utensils, saucepans and gadgets especially bakeware and other home ware goods.
Cosmetics and beauty products are always worth picking up when there or even ordering online, especially Stila, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Benefit and also Crest Whitening Strips.
Designer clothes, underwear and trainers. Bayliner boat products and accessories, camera and iPad accessories.
Do you use any websites in particular?
Mainly Amazon.com, sephora.com, blissworld.com and bedbathandbeyond.com.
What do you think about the bundlebox service?
I think BundleBox is a dream come true! Other sites have offered similar services but none match the full package they offer. All angles are covered from the moment of purchase to the calculation of shipping and customs taxes etc. The option to have things sent separately or as a bundle is brilliant and it’s also a really easy way to send things to friends and family stateside.
What have you got your eye on to buy next?
Next on my list are some beauty gadgets from blissworld.com as they’re so much cheaper and also some really good jeans by J. brand!
Thanks Julie,
Happy Bundling
The BundleBox Team.

Yes it does take up to a week to recover from USA fashion shopping. With so many stores to check out, the motto that keeps me revived for more is ’so many shops, so little time’. Well, that an copious amounts of frozen yogurt!
I have been on a USA shopping expedition and have started looking at other fun, quality and practical things to buy whilst I am here. The cool thing about BundleBox is that you can shop USA from the comfort of your home, have it Bundled to your USA address and count down the days until it arrives. Let me inspire your shopping list!
Shopping For Baby
Baby shopping is big business in the USA and I discovered just a few of the must have products coveted by celebrities and moms wanting the super-cool best for their little bundle of joy.
Bebe au Lait are a line of nursing products currently going down a storm in the USA and recently featured on hit lifestyle show The View.
With their very own patent, the nursing covers come in a range of stylish designs, feature a rigid neckline and allow for baby feeding anytime, anywhere $38.
Over at Pea in the Pod right now there is a fantastic clothing sale for moms-to-be and nursing mommies. From day to evening wear, nursing clothes and accessories you will find a host of stylish designs to choose from and a very reasonable price!
Home Wares
Pottery Barn has something of a cult following as I discovered on my USA trip. The traditional yet practical designs have old style rustic charm that can add superb finishing touches to the home. Unable to fit the sumptuously comfy Charlestown sofa with its gorgeous scatter cushions, I settled for the below must haves!
With its effortless French chic style this wire hamper $129 is perfect for storing laundry and will add a touch of class to your bathroom! Who ever said that laundry time had to be boring!
As Autumn approaches I am looking forward to snuggling with some beautifully handmade quilts and pillow cases from Pottery Barns gorgeous Museum Craft Collection (from $59). Working with the Gee Bends Foundation, the quilts are created as exact replica’s of original American designs and exude this traditional quilting style.
I am not one to shy from a bargain and when I saw the selection of Conservatory Lanterns (from $49 in the sale) in the Pottery Barn sale, I had already started thinking about how I was going to back them in my hand luggage! Luckily, you can also buy online and have them shipped home via BundleBox. Add a warm glow to your conservatory as the Autumn leaves start billowing down.
Happy Bundling!
Roma (AKA Head Bundleer) and The BundleBox Team.
